Nostalgia

This page will grow slowly as I find and scan old photos. Be prepared to marvel at hairstyles and fashion sense!!

Starting out

Casting a quizzical glance over my Grandad's shoulder

My First Coach

This was the first coach I drove, used on my regular 'School Run' into Irfon Valley CP School in Garth, collecting children from Tirabad, Beulah and Llangammarch Wells. Despite being old, and having no power steering, it was nice to drive and had a two speed axle which is like an overdrive in effect.

TGR

This was one of my favourite coaches - when this photo was taken she had only just been painted up in Roy Brown's livery and was very smart. I'm not sure who that boy is - no wonder passengers sometimes looked a bit shocked when he jumped in the seat and drove off!!

SSF

Another lovely coach to drive, the four wheeled steering and small (for a coach) wheels gave superb handling, although the brakes were nothing special!! This picture, not taken by me but subsequently purchased is from when she was in daily use on a service run to Hereford, before I took her over on my school run.

Six Week Course

This was the course photo from my Ambulance Basic Training, at Elm House in Liverpool (not far from Anfield). October 1985.
